RAND Corporation’s Comprehensive Report About Correctional Education and Next Steps

The Council of State Governments Justice Center wrote a small news posting about the RAND Corporation’s comprehensive evaluation of state correctional education programs for adults and juveniles. The webpage contains a link to the report, which includes a “meta-analysis on correctional education’s effects on recidivism and post-employment outcomes for adults, as well as a synthesis of research on programs for youth.” The 177 page reports includes results from a nationwide survey of state correctional education directors, which explains what correctional education programs are provided today. Recommendations for correctional education improvement are also discussed.
